Cobalt Blue by Michael Brook on the 4AD label, now sadly 'deleted' although it can be found on Youtube and music streaming services.

My first ‘ambient’ album and the music I think of the most. featuring James Pinker for percussion, Brian Eno, Roger Eno and Daniel Lanois for various musical responsibilities and violinist Nigel Kennedy. It’s based around Michael’s ‘Infinite Guitar’ an electric guitar modified by Michael to sustain notes indefinitely composed into 12 tracks which include orchestra, synthesizers, body parts and a ‘Fan Drum’. It’s all instrumentals, and for me is as close to ‘pure music’ as you can get.
